Spring cleaning?

Having some problems to shake of my cold so I decided today was cleaning day. Sweeping the floor and getting the tools in their right places.

It might not be surgically clean but fit for boat building I would say, I read somewhere "never trust a man with a clean workshop" but I cannot remember where....

After cleaning I pulled the screws of the planks I glued yesterday. Quite happy with the result but the butt joint came out horrible, nothing that cannot be fixed with some wood and epoxy though.

Half way on the planking

Bad joint..... Some planing on top and a sliver of wood at the bottom will fix it all up...

Finally I decided to remove the pieces of wood that has supported the frames, I do not need them any more and in addition I need to get started on the benches during the weekend and then they will be in my way.

After again

Time today: 1.5h

  1. A really good looking boat Anders.
You must be very proud. I can't imagine being at that stage yet. But I do dream of it.
I find your blog very inspirational.
It is too hot to work in the shed tomorrow (Saturday) so we will take my daughter to Perth to shop with her friends and go to Carbatec to buy some tools instead.

    1. Thanks Richard! Yes, it is really nice to see progress, sometimes especially in the beginning it was frustrating because you put a lot of hours in but could not really see any change.

Do not have a heat problem here, rather the opposite but now spring is coming so hopefully I can open the garage door soon.
